Conflict Shifts are part of the system’s built-in alert functionality, designed to notify schedulers when an employee’s start time or the distance between job sites may create a potential issue. This feature helps ensure staff have adequate time to travel between shifts and prevents back-to-back scheduling conflicts.
Each company can define its time parameters to determine what qualifies as a conflict. Here’s how to set those parameters:
How to Set Conflict Shift Rules:
-
Navigate to Master Company Settings.
-
Go to General Settings > Select the Schedule Settings tab.
-
Scroll to the bottom of the page and locate Set Conflict Rules
-
Enter the number of hours that should be considered too close together for back-to-back scheduling.
Note: The minimum number of hours you can set in the system is 1 hour
How Conflict Shifts Work in Scheduling:
-
When creating shifts in the Schedule Panel, if an employee is assigned shifts that fall within or below your configured time window, the system will trigger a Conflict Shift Notification.
-
You can still choose to override this notification if the shift is valid.
-
The conflicting shift will be color-coded based on the schedule legend, providing a clear visual cue for easy identification and management.
This feature offers both flexibility and control, helping you maintain reliable and realistic schedules while avoiding accidental overlaps or excessive travel demands on your staff.
